I'm going to be there and here's the skinny from Bruce:

May 18 - Kimotion is back for their annual concert at Martyrs'. This year, composer Kimo Williams will introduce three new works as well as the Chicago premiere of Vinnie Colauita's composition "John's Blues". Kimotion's new Live CD featuring Vinnie Colauita and recorded in Malibu and Chicago during their 2002 tour, will be released exclusively at this concert. This 20 pc. orchestra this year features a special guest appearance by Gary Sinise on electric bass.

Sorry, I should have written Planet X show (not Virgil clinic) July 13th, not June 13th. We hoped to have Virgil do a brief clinic before but that doesn't look like that will happen.

We've got a couple other things that are looking like they may happen.

Peter, I saw Tom today, he says "Hey". BTW, You really should see him play with Kick the Cat, it's a great band, (some of the same players as Kimo's band) with much better tunes - IMO. Kris Meyers was KTC's original drummer (and a former student of mine-I saw him today too!) who's now touring with Umphrey Magee - a progressive jam band.

I have seen him with 'Kick The Cat'. It's a
wild band, it's true! Do you remember the
story I told about Tom, seeing him back in
1984 or 1985? Check it out in the 'Search'.

Tom is a great player! I have not seen the
original KTC drummer that you spoke of. I
am sure he was a great player, though.

I saw them rehearse a few tunes, the night
I did see them and think that it could be a
difficult thing to work with the guitar-player,
though he's great but every band has some-
thing, right? Tom can get around things.

You say 'Hi!' right back to him! I look forward
to seeing him again. I actually thought he
played the tunes better than Vinnie did the
last time he was out!

As for Virgil, I am saddened that he won't do
a clinic here.

Hey Brad and Pete!

Yeah, I'll be doing the Kimotion gig on the 18th. I hope to see you there! It's going to be a great gig; Gary's sitting in and we're playing some new material, including (like one of you mentioned) Vinnie's "John's Blues". Egad, I still have to learn it! [img]rolleyes.gif[/img] And Kick the Cat's playing on May 26th at the Lyon's Den and we're picking up steam. The last gig we did (that Brad came to) was one of the best since I've been doing them.

Oh, and Peter, we met, I wanna say, more like in '90 or '91, not '84 or so (Id've been only 14 or 15 back then!). But it was a while back now!
